The IDF has published new criteria for the Metabolic Syndrome. Obesity as defined by waist circumference is required plus two more criteria out of a possible 4. The waist sizes are smaller than the NCEP criteria. For Europids ( a term I had not heard before) it is 94 cm for men and 80cm for women.Different criteria are used for South Asians and Chinese and different for Japanese as well. The BP and blood tests criteria are the same for all for all races, BP 130/85, HDl-40 for men, 50 for women, FBS 100, and TGs 150.
